Digital Policy Salon
The Digital Policy Salon is a platform to discuss current digital policy matters with the relevant decision-makers and offers insights into the digital policy issues of our time.
We were pleased to continue the series with Dr. Oliver Unger, LL.M. (Harvard), a counsel at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, on Wednesday, 30 June 2021 from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm. Dr. Unger gave a lecture on “The current Commission’s proposal for a law on artificial intelligence - overview, classification, basic questions”. The lecture was followed by a panel discussion.
On Wednesday, 28 April 2020, we welcomed the Federal Minister in charge of digital infrastructure, Mr. Andreas Scheuer, to speak at the virtually held Digital Policy Salon. Mr. Scheuer gave a lecture titled “Sustainable, intelligent, networked: How data and digitalisation are changing our mobility” which was followed by a panel discussion. The event was introduced by the University of Passau’s President.
Ms. Daniela Kolbe kicked off the series with a lecture on the final report issued by the Enquete Commission on Artificial Intelligence of the German Bundestag. She concluded by discussing the report’s legal and political consequences with us. Ms. Kolbe is a member of the Bundestag and chair of the Commission.
