Teaching excellence
We are known throughout Germany for our excellent law programmes and courses and enjoy all the benefits of a manageable-sized university. Our students can choose from 30 different specialisations. The Institute for the Didactics of Law, as the only institution of its kind in Germany, offers top-rate exam preparation for the first state examination for law including during the semester breaks.
World-class research
Our twenty chairs, three teaching professorships and five research institutes stand for excellent and wide-ranging research. Our students can specialise in one of five innovative and cross-disciplinary profile areas – International Law; IT, Media and Communication Law; Business and Tax Law; and Legal History and Jurisprudence.
International outlook
Our international focus benefits students in Germany and abroad. We offer you an English-taught certificate programme, double degrees with various European universities, and subject-specific language programmes. Furthermore, students can sit the University-set component of the state examination abroad.
