The faculty offers courses and qualifications tailored to the needs of international students, such as the LL.M. German Law for foreign graduates and the Certificate in Principles of German Law.
How do I apply for a programme? What level of German proficiency do I need? How do I apply for a visa or residence permit? How do I go about finding accommodation in Passau? The International Office has the answers to these and many other questions, and offers practical help with formalities and what you need to know about living and studying in Passau.
Whether you are planning to study a full degree programme at the University of Passau or are joining us for a semester or two through an exchange programme (e.g. ERASMUS, DAAD or a bilateral university exchange), we will help you with the application and matriculation requirements for international applicants.
The Law Faculty's international office is the primary contact for German and international students if you have any questions on the international aspects of your law studies.
Th open consultation hours are held via Zoom on Tuesdays between 2 p. m. and 4 p. m. and Thursdays between 10 a. m. and 11.30 a. m. You can find the appointment and further information on Stud. IP (look for the profile of Ulrike Wassermann and go to “Terminvergabe” / "Date allocation").

Andrew Otto is the Programme Director for the University of London International Programmes in Passau (the CertHE and LL.B. programmes), the Co-ordinator for the LL.M. German Law for foreign graduates programme and the Course Advisor for the foreign law specialisation.
The Law Student Committee (in German: Fachschaft Jura) represents the law students of the University. It provides a number of services to students, and is particularly relevant for international students when it comes to planning their studies, i.e. choosing which modules to study and when.
